One mean bird

I shouldn't call him a mean bird. He is just a very protective bird. We have this bluebird that likes to fly after us. We can't go near our truck or my husbands workshop with out being on the look out for this bird. He even chases birds away when they come near. He scares me....he flew VERY close to me and made this 37 year old grown woman scream like a child. (Which my husband loved...thought that was pretty funny!) He is cute and loves looking at himself in the mirrors. My husband sat in the truck and took these pictures of him.

See, isn't he cute???

He is looking inside the truck at my husband...

Thanks Mr. Bluebird, now we have to wash the truck!!

Do you want to know why he is so protective?????
Because he is a new Daddy!! We often see the mama bird and daddy bird together. She always goes in the birdhouse while he stands on the outside protecting his family. I haven't heard any singing yet so I am not for sure if it's just eggs or babies yet........

Have a great weekend!!!

I'm hoping we have have hatched eggs this a.m. Both mom/dad have been flying out of the house lots. Usually its more subdued this time of day.

It's sweet that he's overprotective but he's totally giving your hubby the stink eye.
New parents are nuts! I've done it twice, which proves I'm insane. :oP

Cute pictures, Debra!!!! I don't think Bluebirds get protective UNTIL the babies are here. After the babies are born, the mama and papa both feed them. They'll stay in the nest for about 18 days and then the little ones will fledge. SO precious!!!!

Have a wonderful day and week. I'll post one more time in the morning--but then I'll be gone for about 9 days.

Hugs,
Betsy

What a great daddy he is. He's pretty damn cute for being a bit of a bully to those who are much bigger than he is.
